사우디아라비아 반도의 꼬리 부분에 위치한 카타르의 수도 도하(Doha)에 위치한 한국대사관은 동과 서에 일본대사관과 불가리아대사관을 접하며, 남으로 홍해 바다를 바라 보고 북으로 외교단지의 주진입로를 면하고 있다.
대사관 건물을 도로변에, 대사의 관저를 해안으로 배치하여 그 사이에 형성된 공간을 공식적인 행사에 이용되는 중심공간으로 만듦으로서 청사와 관저의 프라이버시를 해결함과 동시에 행사에 따른 다목적인 역할을 할 수 있도록 하고 있다.
The Korean Embassy is located in Doha, the capital of Qatar, which is at the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula. It Faces the Japanese Embassy and the Bularian Embassy to its east and respectively, the Red Sea to the south and the main entrance road to the diplomatic omplex to the north. By placing the embassy building alongside the street and residence toward the coast, a space was created in-between the two buildings. This unique layout of the two structures has multipuropose uses-using the space in-between as a public event holding place as well as a means for securing privacy of each buildings.
