MISSION
The KSG Foundation was founded in 1988, shortly after the death of Kim Swoo Geun, by a group of founding members from various cultural disciplines, lead by Lee Kyung Sung (1919-2009), an art critic and former director of National Museum of Contemporary Art, who were committed to not only protecting the integrity of Kim Swoo Geun’s legacy, but also to uphold Kim Swoo Geun’s vision that artistic disciplines, including architecture, have a critical role to play in cultural continuity and therefore must engage with each other and embrace tradition and heritage.
KSG Foundation’s activities include architectural awards, publication, educational activities, exhibitions, research, and public programs. The KSG Foundation is comprised of a small but dedicated interdisciplinary staff.
